Hotel Reservations:

Come early to the Big Island or extend your stay and get in some volcano viewing on the 30th anniversary year of Kilauea's eruption!

The Hilo Hawaiian Hotel has set aside a block of rooms until January 30 for TESOL Conference registrants at the conference rate of $95.00 plus tax for a standard room and $119.00 plus tax for a deluxe room.

The hotel will extend the conference rate to pre and post conference days- just let them know your plans!

You can fax or email your reservation request to the hotel at the address on the reservation form. You can also contact the hotel directly.

Other accommodations in the area include Hilo Bay Hostel http://www.hawaiihostel.net/ (often used by newly arriving UH Hilo students) and Arnott's Lodge http://www.arnottslodge.com/

Conference Transportation and Parking:

UH Hilo is located approximately 4 miles from the Hilo airport (http://hilo.hawaii.edu/uhh/maps.php#hilo) at 200. W. Kawili St.

Attendees should plan on entering at the main entrance on Kawili St. and park in the main parking lot. There is no fee for Saturday parking on campus.

Rental cars and taxis are available at the Hilo airport. There is also be a limited shuttle service to and from the conference.

A UH Hilo shuttle van will pick up arriving attendees who have reserved seats at the parking lot immediately adjacent to the Hawaiian Airlines arrival area. When you come down the escalator, look to your right. You will see a parking area available only to authorized vans and buses. ( Baggage Claim is to your left) The UH Hilo vans are white with the university name on the side. Seating is limited and on a first come/first serve basis, so please send Pam Collins (pamalac@hawaii.edu) your reservation request as soon as possible.

There are a few seats remaining on the shuttles to/from the airport. Please get your request in soon.

The van shuttle will run to and from Hilo airport at the following times on February 16:

Airport Pick-up:

1) 7:45-8:00 (van leaves for the university at 8:00)

2) 8:15-8:30 (van leaves for the university at 8:30)

Airport Drop-off:

1) 5:00 leaving from the university

2) 5:30 leaving from the university
