Hawai‘i TESOL Travel Grants

 

Aloha Hawai‘i TESOL Members,


Hawai‘i TESOL is excited to announce the availability of a limited number of Travel Grants for the 2017 Hawai‘i TESOL Conference in Hilo, Hawai‘i. These travel grants are funded entirely by membership fees and member donations.


Two types of grants are available:

 

Merit-Based Grants


Purpose:  To support ESL specialists in attending the Hawai‘i TESOL Conference in Hilo, Hawai‘i on February 18, 2017.


Who’s Eligible:  Hawai‘i TESOL members in good standing. 


Amount:  Each grant consists of a $100 award.


Criteria:  Applicants are evaluated according to (a) reasons for wanting to attend the conference and (b) the benefits that attending the conference will bring to them and others in their community.  (Note: Recipients of a Hawai‘i TESOL travel grant are not eligible for the same award twice within a two-year period.)


To Apply:  Send to the email address below a 250-word (maximum) personal statement that includes (a) your name, address, and telephone number; (b) your reasons for attending the conference; and (c) ways you and others in your community will benefit from your experience at the conference. Applications that lack any of the above information may not be considered.

I'm Feeling Lucky Grants


Purpose:  To support ESL specialists in attending the Hawai‘i TESOL Conference in Hilo, Hawai‘i on February 18, 2017.


Who’s Eligible:  Hawai‘i TESOL members in good standing. 


Amount:  Each grant consists of a $50 award.


Criteria:  Register for and attend the Hawai‘i TESOL Conference in Hilo, Hawai‘i on February 18, 2017, and be present at the Annual Members' Meeting and Raffle at the end of the conference. (Must be present to win.)


To Apply:  No application needed.


Due Date: You must register for the conference on or before February 18, 2017.
