The Word - Hawai‘i TESOL Newsletter
The Word provides members and nonmembers alike with opportunities to learn from and share ideas with colleagues. Content includes articles on language learning and teaching, practical classroom techniques, legislative activities, and much more.
The Word is published three times per year. It is distributed to members at Hawai‘i TESOL events and is available free to all in electronic form (see sidebar).
Submission guidelines and article ideas are described below. For more information, contact newsletter editor Lisa Kawai.
Articles should be no more than four pages, double-spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font, attached as an MS Word document (no PDFs please). Accompanying photos or clip art are optional but welcome. Please also include a short biographical statement about the author (email address optional). In general, articles are written in a fairly informal, non-scholarly style. Please refer to previous issues of The Word to get a sense of the types of articles that have appeared in the newsletter, or contact the editor with questions.
